Introduction*
For the first time in history, the FIFA World Cup is changing completely. World Cup 2026 will feature 48 teams instead of 32, and it will be hosted by 3 countries at once: USA, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026, and the final will be on July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This is the biggest World Cup ever, with 104 matches instead of 64.

*1. New Tournament Format: 48 Teams, 12 Groups*
FIFA redesigned the whole system to fit 48 teams:
- *Group Stage*: 12 groups, each with 4 teams
- *Qualifiers*: Top 2 from each group + 8 best third-placed teams advance
